These conveyors move loads resting on purpose-designed skids. The two parallel runways consist of aluminium profiles fitted with plastic strips on which the chains run. Depending on requirements, idle-roller chains are used to create accumulation, or flat-link chains to carry out transfers.
These lines can be equipped with a wide range of devices to stop and centre the skids at process stations, raise the skids to create ergonomic workstations, rotate the skids to present the workpiece in the required orientation to an operator or to a robot, stop the skids to create accumulation, sort the skids onto different routes, and overcome differences in level in order to optimise the use of space, working on more than one level.
