APPLICATION: painting
PROBLEM:
The realization of a mass production painting plant for plastic spoilers and bumpers which will be flexible in that it will be possible to paint both different sized products and lots of different volumes.

Specifications:
  • the need to create a plant within a closed space with air filtering and thus the need to create an extremely compact plant both in terms of surface area and volume.
  • varying product dimensions, which means different stay times in the various treatment areas;
  • the need for high productive capacity (one skid every 45 seconds).
 
SOLUTION :
The painting plant has been realized using System 08 ground pallet conveyors (500 m in total) and has been laid out on three floors interconnected by continuous lifts. All the loading, unloading and pre-treatment operations take place on the first floor.
The second floor has been set out in such a way as to accommodate all painting operations while the third floor houses the ovens and dryers in addition to the air filtering and conditioning plants.
The skids have been especially designed for carrying a pair of spoilers or bumpers and are capable of moving along both the major and minor axes, thus increasing buffer capacity.
The software controls the speed of the master (painting) chain and automatically synchronizes this with that of the slave chains.
The plant is further supplied with a self-diagnosis system which speeds up the starting time after malfunctioning. Finally, statistical processing of these malfunctions allows for targeted preventive maintenance.
