PROBLEM:
The realization of a high output production line which must, however, be flexible, for the production of various sizes and types of bologna sausage. This must include the organisation and the control of the production processes and the handling of the product up to its packaging on pallets in accordance with a fixed dispatch timetable.
Specifications:
  • the necessity for extremely high standards of hygiene in the plant with periodic washing and sterilisation;
  • the capacity for daily production of up to 15 different types of bologna sausage of different sizes and with ingredients (having different cooking times as a result);
  • the existence of cooking oven times ranging from a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 16 hours.
 


ANSWER :
The mechanical solution requires the use of a System 34000 overhead dual track conveyor for both handling and warehousing of the finished products in overhead warehouses at two levels (total length 2250 m).

The conveyor features anodised light alloy trolleys and runway, stainless steel track and chains, with sealed ball bearings. In addition, its general characteristics make it particularly suitable for plants requiring both manual and automatic handling of the loads.

The software makes possible the scheduling of daily production with a mix of products in order to optimize the use of the cooking ovens. Furthermore, it permits the control of storage in the overhead warehouses and subsequent collection of goods for wrapping and packaging for dispatch.
